January Sweep & Keep Challenge: Master Bedroom Week Three
Week Three- Organize and Decorate- This week, each zone will be organized within the room I am working on and then I will decorate with a few personal touches here and there to make it more welcoming and comfortable. Again, nothing fancy here, just something to add a personal touch.
Last week I took the time to think about each zone in my bedroom and what I would need to make that space function better. I also thought ahead about what I would like to do as far as sprucing it up a bit.
Because of our family get-away this week, I am not sure how much I will get done, but now that I have a plan, I can come back to it next week and finish up anything I haven’t been able to finish this month.
This week, I want to finish hanging pictures (I hung some wedding photos in black and white above the head of my bed and they are so pretty, makes me want to marry my hubby all over again!) , organize my clothing a little more and try to get hubby to at least begin going through his things, and get the things necessary for that repair list that I made..
I’m still on the hunt for headboard material, and when extra money is there, I’d like to get a vinyl wall saying for above the pictures by my bed. I just receive in the mail from my mom, aunt and grandmother two handmade quilts, one of which matches my new paint! While I am on my trip this week, I want to find a fabric store to see if I can find material for pillow shams to match.
My prayer space is almost done, I need to get some more material for my mod podge project for the cheese box. (I am not the greatest at decoupage yet, but this cheese box project has been teaching me a lot!)
I may or may not finish everything on my list by the end of the month, but I’ve accomplished more just by having a plan, so for me, it is all good. My repair list and plan list for the master bedroom will now go into my household binder, where I can pull it out and refer to it when necessary, like for when I find that materials for that headboard, or the material for the new curtains I would like to make eventually! That’s what I love about planning lists, they are always there waiting for you when you can get them!
As you finish up organizing this week, take the time to ask of each zone in your room, “What can I do to make this space more comfortable, pretty, beautiful? Will a vase with some nice artificial flowers help? A framed picture or bowl of potpourri? You are more likely to take care of a space if it is nice looking and you will enjoy that space more if it has a little something special to it.
For me, this week is the most fun, you’ve done the hard work of de-cluttering, cleaning and planning- now you get to pull it all together and make a beautiful space for your home! Have fun this week, and remember, if you haven’t gotten to each week’s lists, it’s okay! You still have another week to wrap things up. I’ll be talking about what to do if you don’t finish a room in a month next posting… also remember that next week’s posting will be a little late due to our trip, so refer to Week Four in the introduction the this series to start fresh Monday.
See you in Week Four!

Alco has a rack of vinyl wall words, some were scripture, for not too terrible a price, however, what is terrible, is my memory- I cant remember how much!
I didn’t know that Amanda, thank you! I will check it out!
